The list of appliances that consume energy in standby mode continues to grow on a worldwide basis. With the ever increasing almost overwhelming plethora of new gadgets that become quickly obsolete, industry and government alike are making this a high priority. An exhaustive source of information is the Standby Power website.

Caldrea is perhaps my favorite eco-cleaning supply company. I’ve been using their products for about 10 years now and love them. They are aromatherapy cleaning products by Mona Hatoum based in Minnesota, USA. They work really well and smell fantastic. The prices are more than comparable products yet, they are diluted so a little goes a long way. Caldrea also offers cleaning supplies – yet, you’ll need to consider whether or not you want to use them as most them contain animal products such as horse hair bristle, goat hair and so forth. Purchases at Sur La Table. Stockists are on site or you can order online. Great deal for laundry. Also can’t really recommend their hand lotions due to parabens and so forth.
